BEAUTIFUL, MATCHING #, LOW MILEAGE, TRIPLE BLACK 1968 CHEVROLET CAMARO SS CLONE....READY TO SHOW OR GO!
Truly stunning, show quality, matching number, low mileage 1968 Chevrolet Camaro! This beauty recently came to us from the previous owner in Tennessee who enjoyed it for the last 4 years on occasional sunny day drives. He purchase it at the Pigeon Forge, TN Car Show from the person who had restored it and believe me it was done right!! Although the previous owner did not have any paperwork history on the car it is easy to see that this is a very original, unmolested car. The mileage is believed to be just under 97,000 original miles and one look around the car will make you a believer! This is a Los Angeles build car and I would not be surprised if this car spent a good part of its life in the California area before coming to the sunny, dry , Southeast region. The body is amazingly straight and the paint is show quality! The restorer took the liberty to change the original color of Grecian Green to the Tuxedo Black it wears today. It was an original black vinyl top with black standard interior car and the triple black color combo is hard to beat especially on a body as nice as this one!! To enhance the car even further he decided to add the SS badges, gas cap and SS hood. I will be offering this awesome Camaro with your choice of 2 different sets of wheels/tires and you will see pictures of it with both sets below. I personally love the look of the stock Ralley wheel wrapped in Red Line Radials but it also has a mean stance with the American Racing wheels as well. I will do my best to provide enough pictures and a couple of videos so you can see and hear this awesome Camaro. Sit back, enjoy and feel free to call me to discuss a price that will put this beauty in your garage.
Since I am offering this Classic Camaro with your choice of 2 sets of wheels/tires here are a few pics for you to compare and decide which look suits your personal taste best. I would be glad to negotiate a deal with both sets of wheels but the winning bidder will have their choice of the Red Line Tires on Original 15 x 7 Ralley Wheels or the BFG Radial TA's on 15 x 8 American Racing Gun Metal Polished wheels. I think you will agree this Camaro looks awesome both ways:
While many cars look great in pics, this Triple Black Camaro truly looks as good, if not better, in person as it does in pictures. The body is amazingly straight and it appears to have all of its original sheet metal other then the SS hood that was added. I would call the body near flawless and as the previous owner told me many Camaro experts have looked at it and said it was one of the nicest '68's they had seen. It has not hit the shows over the last few years but there is no doubt that this will be a trophy winner if that is what you would like to do. All of the chrome and stainless looks fantastic and you will see it has the optional bumper guards, front and rear spoiler. There is not a spot of rust or bubble to be found on the body of this black beauty!! The vinyl top looks brand new! All of the glass looks excellent and windows all function as they should. Have a look for yourself:
Open the drivers side door and you will see that this Camaro is equally as nice inside as it is outside. Standard Black Bucket Seat interior looks fantastic with no wear or tear evident. Headliner and carpet looks excellent. Dash looks great and you will notice the woodgrain accents on dash and console with the Staple style shifter. Hard to miss the beautiful upgraded woodgrain steering wheel. Aftermarket am/fm/cassette with speakers in the rear deck. All of the gauges, blinkers and lights appear to be working correctly. All of the weatherstripping looks fantastic. The interior basically looks like it did when it left the showroom. Here's a look inside:
As mentioned this is not a true SS as it has the Original, matching # 327 V8 and they did not produce an SS in '68 with the 327 motor to the best of my knowledge. The original 327 is believed to have just under 97,000 original miles and was rebuilt at some point probably about 5 year ago when the car was restored and it sounds like there is a slight cam giving it the muscle car idle you would hope for. The #'s on the engine pad are very legible in person and definitely match the last digits of the Vin #. This is not a high horsepower rebuild but rather more of a very stock original with original stock manifolds. Transmission is the original Powerglide and it shifts strong and smooth. The dual exhaust is all new and sounds great. This car drives really nicely and can be driven anywhere! Power steering makes handling a breeze and the brakes while manual will stop you with ease with no pulling or issues. Suspension is tight and right! You should not need to do anything to this car but get in , turn the key and drive your heart out!!
Few more areas that the smart buyer will want to know about....Floorpans, trunk, etc?? Be careful of other ads that do not show these areas because usually there is a reason they neglect to show you these. No worries here!! Floorpans appear original, are bone dry and rock solid with no rust issues whatsoever!!! They were not covered in undercoating but just neatly detailed so you can see what you are getting.. Inside of the trunk has the correct mat and spare tire cover and the trunk pan is also rock solid. Rear quarter panel trunk drop offs look great as well. Folks, this is a quality car up and down, inside and out!!! Have a look:
HERE ARE A COUPLE OF SHORT VIDEOS SO YOU CAN GET ANOTHER WALK AROUND TOUR AND THEN ALSO HEAR THIS TRIPLE BLACK BEAUTY RUNNING:
Hopefully the pictures and videos have shown you just how sweet this '68 Triple Black Camaro looks and sounds. In addition to being a licensed Classic Car Dealer I am also a Transport Broker and will be happy to assist the buyer with a great rate on Enclosed or Open Transport anywhere in the US at the buyers expense or to any port for overseas buyers.
Just to be 100% clear, this Camaro will come with the winning bidders choice of wheels/tires ( not both unless a price is agreed on to add the second set). Here are 2 more pics to let you see it both ways:
