Up for auction is my 1968 Chevy Camaro Rally Sport. The cost to
build this car was over $100k and it is a high quality show car that you can
drive right now. The car is tuned properly, dialed in, and dependable. It is
easy to drive and with modern amenities.
The paint is a GM
Bright Blue PPG basecoat/clearcoat and it is a knockout (looks like a blue
candy apple). The paint looks to be a mile deep with a show car, mirror finish,
and the body is straight down the sides and the door and trunk gaps are good.
The chrome, trim, and bright work are all show quality and all of the marker
lights, lenses and trim are new. The C5 Gun Metal Coy wheels look great with
the 4 -wheel Wilwood disc brakes exposed. The tires are Nexen N3000
Radials
255/35ZR20 rear and 225/40ZR18 front. The glass is excellent all the
way around. The stance, the cowl hood, the wheels, and everything about this
Camaro does look awesome!
And then when you crank the car up
Best sounding car that I have
owned, period.
The powerplant is a 468
cubic inch big block beast generating 720hp. This motor was built for power and
performance. The motor alone cost $30k to build. It has a nasty thumping solid
lift cam and full roller rockers making plenty of noise delivered through the
polished Hooker Headers and 3 exhaust through the MagnaFlow mufflers and then
3 stainless again out the back. Not only is it a nasty, but very streetable,
beast; it is also show quality under the hood all the way. To start with the
show quality engine bay has a color matched radiator support show panel, which
hides the battery and the front of the radiator to nose gap. The firewall is
smooth and slick as glass and the fender wells are as well for the Street
Rod/Hot Rod look. It has a Be Cool Radiator with dual electric fans and
polished FlexCool radiator hoses upper and lower. It has a serpentine belt
system with polished pulleys and brackets, polished AC compressor, polished
chrome alternator, polished chrome Tuff Stuff brake booster and polished chrome
master cylinder. You will also find polished Hooker headers, billet aluminum
hood hinges, polished Edelbrock Air Gap Performer manifold with a Holley 750
cfm Street/Strip double pumper. It has polished stainless fuel line and all
braided hoses with Aeroquip fittings. Also an aluminum high flow water pump,
High gloss upper and lower A-Arms, and a color match and chrome wiper motor,
and a HEI Street Fire Distributor.
The transmission is a race
built Performance turbo 350 built to handle the horsepower with new steel
pressure plates set to ideal clearances for high performance and with a
4000-stall converter. The 12-bolt rear end has a 4:11 gear but acts like a 3:73
with the big rear wheels. The 4-wheel Wilwood disc brake setup stops the car
very well. Underneath it has polished adjustable Caltrac bars, frame connected,
new springs, new aluminum fuel tank, front & rear sway bars, all new front
end, solid body mounts, and a high gloss painted front clip.
The interior is all custom
Grey leather by Pro Custom Auto Interiors (Steve Holcombe) from Knoxville
Tennessee who is regarded as one of the best in the business for hot rod interiors.
The interior is very tasteful and matches the car well. It has a chrome tilt
steering column, custom center console with cup holders, power windows, Dakota
digital dash, and the high back bucket seats adjust several different ways. All
new wiring and a new fuse panel was used as well as sound deadener under the
new carpet.
Yes it is a show car for sure but dont let all the shine fool
you. This Camaro/Street Rod is built to drive and built for cruzin. It will be
the best sounding car at any show you attend, that is a fact!
You could not build a car like this one for double of what my
reserve is. The car was finished off last year in 2011 and it is dialed in,
tuned up, and ready for whatever you desire for this baby!
I will pick you up at the Augusta, GA airport or the Thomson small
aircraft airport on almost any day except Sunday in order for you to inspect
this car for yourself.
